Minutes of the Branch Meeting of the Hibiscus Society of Qld. Inc. (West Moreton Branch) Venue: Uniting Church Hall John St Rosewood Date: 06.09.2009 Commencing: 2.10PM Attendance: 16 members. Apologies: as per attendance book. Accepted - Maurice L. Seconded - Leon B. Minutes: The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted. Accepted Debbie G. Seconded Leon B. Business arising: Moved to General Business Moved Carole W Seconded Ron W Correspondence In: Spring Show Ipswich is on 16th, 17th and 18th September. Correspondence Out: Nil Moved Brian B. Seconded Ron W Financial Report: Read by David W. Moved David W. Seconded Ron W. General Business: 1. Brian B. Asked for $200.00 to go toward the Running costs of his Ute that is used to move all Society Equipment etc. to all Shows etc. Moved Trevor C. Seconded Debbie G. An amendment stating that not only will the amount of $200.00 be given now but the situation will be reviewed early next year. Moved Maurie L. Seconded Leon B. 2. Regarding the Constitution Change. Maurie L. was requested to ask Head Office for more information. Maurie agreed. Moved - Leon B. Seconded - Ron W. 3. The tree planting for Peace Day was postponed to 2010 due to a lack of suitable location. 4. More information of all Branch activities be given to Wally Morgan for inclusion on the Web Site. Moved Nick G. Seconded Leon B. 5. Pam Boyles resignation as Treasurer and as a member was received. 6. A thankyou to Pam Boyle be sent for her contribution to the society. Moved Maurie L. Upcoming events: Pruning & Grafting Day on 4th October at the residence of Leon & Lee Benson at 36 Gutt Road Regency Downs. 5465 7606 All members are encouraged to bring a Salad to share. All members to bring Chairs, Plate, Mug and Cutlery for Bar-B-Que lunch. Trevor C. will bring Fruit Salad for Desert as well as Tea Pot and Urn. Brian B. To bring tables. If members wish to take cuttings home from the pruning day, they need to bring tags to write the name of the cutting on, felt pens and plastic bags. Brian Baills expounded on the techniques of Pruning and Grafting. Christmas Party: 6th December at 11.30 AM. Venue to change from the Brothers League Club to the Country Comfort Motel South Station Road Raceview. Coat $25.00 per head will include 2 course meal with Christmas Nibbles. Each person to bring a Secret Santa Gift ( max.Cost $10.00 per gift) Males to bring gift for a Male and Females to bring gift for a Female. Meeting closed 3.30pm |
