1915 - 1919 NEWSPAPER PHOTOS

An index has been compiled of Surnames of all people whose photos were published in the Sydney Mail during 1915 - 1919.  The index is not restricted to servicemen, and will interest researchers who are looking for ancestors in this time period.  Included are family groups, Red Cross workers, war correspondents, politicians, royalty, those working at home, ceremonies, obituaries, honour boards, funerals, etc.

The photo shown above as an example is of Captain W.G. Boys from Maryborough, who died of wounds in Northern France.  For a nominal price the Maryborough District Family History Society Inc. will scan any photograph from the original newspaper, and print it for you on photograph quality paper.  E-mail the society at mdfhs@satcom.net.au to enquire about this service.
