THE ACA

The Australian Communications Authority (ACA) is there to regulate what is permitted to be broadcast on any form of communications equipment around the country, be it radiowaves, microwaves (TV) or through the phonelines (internet).  An alternative to freedom of speech?  www.aca.gov.au

THE CBAA

The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) is a national organisation that exists for the benefit of community broadcasting around the country. If a station has a problem, then they contact the CBAA, they talk to the relevant parties and sort it all out.  www.cbaa.org.au

THE QCBA

The Queensland Community Broadcasting Association is basically the Queensland branch of the CBAA in the same sense that the RACQ is the Queensland branch of the Australian Automobile Association.  www.qcba.org.au

 APRA

APRA is the government body that manages what music is heard where. All radio stations around Australia pay money to APRA each year for the privilege of playing music over the airwaves. This is to give the recording artists the money they deserve.  www.apra.gov.au

 Australian Record Industry Association

ARIA is the official organisation of the Australian Record Industry. They, among other things, publish weekly charts documenting the rise and fall of the new music on the scene.  www.aria.com.au
